Fighting Hunger

Social Concern: Over 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine people on earth. The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished.

Solution: For each pair of socks purchased, 6 therapeutic food packs are donated to children in need.

Mission: Donate as many therapeutic food packs as possible. Over 10,000 donated to date.

Treating HIV

Social Concern: More than 95% of HIV infections are in developing countries.

Solution: Each pair of socks provides 7 days of HIV treatments to pregnant women in Africa.

Mission: To lead and inspire the world in achieving universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.

Educate Kids

Social Concern: Literacy is the foundation for all future learning, yet there are still 750 million illiterate people in the world. Two thirds are women and girls, and an additional 250 million are not learning in primary school.

Solution: For each pair of socks purchased 2 books are donated to children in need.

Mission: Room to Read envisions a world in which all children can pursue a quality education that enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities.

They collaborate with local communities, partner organizations and governments to work towards their vision, where primary school children become independent readers and girls complete secondary school with the skills necessary to negotiate key life decisions.

Since 2000, Room to Read has benefited more than 11.5 million children.
